SLO County Golf Trail BrochureFriday, July 22, 2005The San Luis Obispo County Visitors & Conference Bureau (SLOCVCB) announced the creation of a all-new countywide golf brochure just over a year ago - "Golf Trail - San Luis Obispo County, California." The colorful tri-fold brochure includes detailed descriptions of eleven county golf courses, along with spectacular photos and a countywide map with complete contact information.The SLOCVCB's executive director, Jonni Biaggini, formed a "Golf Advisory Board" with local golf course representatives to promote the area in and outside of the county as a major golf destination. The board drafted a marketing plan and the creation of the full-color brochure is the first accomplishment. "In this highly competitive world of golf, our golf course managers are realizing that strength is in numbers," Biaggini said. "By collaborating, instead of competing with each other, we can promote San Luis Obispo County as a major golf destination." The local golf courses view the newly formed board and promotional efforts as extremely beneficial to the golf industry. Gary Setting, Chairman of the Golf Advisory Board and owner of Sea Pines Golf Resort in Los Osos, said, "I’m thrilled to see all of the golf course operators unite and discuss options to promote golf in our county as a whole." He emphasizes that the brochure will serve a dual purpose, "We want to establish the county as a top golf destination for visitors and continue to promote great, quality golf to local golfers as well." The first printing was for 100,000 copies. They will be distributed in Certified Folder brochure racks throughout the county at hotels, restaurants, golf resorts, visitor centers, chambers, airports, campgrounds/RV Parks, gas stations, car rental offices, wineries, and Amtrak Stations. They will also be distributed in Northern California at over two hundred major corporate businesses located in San Jose and Santa Clara. In addition to the release of the brochure, the SLOCVCB has upgraded their website to showcase golf as a popular attraction. "Golf Trail" has been added to the home page tab listings, along with a map of the local courses and chart of amenities. A separate website address was created, www.SLOCountyGolfTrail.com, that directs people to the SLOCVCB website. The SLOCVCB will be sending out a golf brochure with every Visitors Guide that is ordered. The brochure can also be ordered by visiting www.SanLuisObispoCounty.com or by calling (800) 634-1414. The San Luis Obispo County Visitors & Conference Bureau is a non-profit organization created to promote the county as a travel destination through publicity, advertising, group tour and film business. |
