SLO County Golf, Wine & Real EstateGolf, Wine & Real Estate News and Events BlogFeaturing Chalk Mountain Golf CourseThursday, July 07, 2005After signing on Avila Beach and Blacklake Golf Course yesterday, today we met with the General Manager and Head Professional at Chalk Mountain Golf Course in Atascadero to discuss promotional ideas for their North County course. In addition to agreeing to feature their Tournaments, "Free Junior Golf Lessons", and "Play Free Golf on your Birthday" offer, we'll also be launching a website makeover for their existing website at www.chalkmountaingolf.com! Here's what their site looked like before...![]() We're excited to launch this new website which includes the site's current content along with additional information about their pro shop and affiliation with Golf Shop 101, along with clinics, lessons and pro bios. Here's what the new design looks like... ![]() After meeting with their staff, I practiced a little on their chipping and putting greens, then headed out for a round of 18 holes. It was pretty hot out there today with only a small breeze for relief. I was a little concerned about my hand spain in my right hand, but it's been feeling okay when I'm not playing. My concern turned out to be warranted. I was in quite a bit of pain on the back nine. However, the front nine went well. I had 3 birdie putt attempts from 3-4 feet, but only sunk one of them. I turned in a 39 on the front, hitting 5 greens in regulation. ![]() I've now shot under 40 on the front nine in my last 3 outings, but haven't yet broken 40 on the back nine. Today was no exception. I can blame my hand injury and the heat for part of this lack of success, but overall, I just didn't play as well. I shot a 45 on the back nine to finish with an 84. I only hit 3 greens on the back nine in regulation. Anyway, it's looking like I'll need to take some time off from golf to let this hand heal. I'm not happy about it, but want to be injury free for an upcoming week vacation in Kauai with the family in August. I'm planning to get out for a round or two with my son... Looking forward to it! |
